Held annually in the heart of Des Moines’ Beaverdale neighborhood, the Beaverdale Fall Festival is a vibrant, community-driven event that blends tradition, entertainment, and local pride. In 2025, it takes place on September 19–20.

🎉 Festival Highlights

• Parade: A crowd favorite, featuring local schools, organizations, and community groups marching down Beaver Avenue. Don’t miss the grand marshal and the candy toss!

• Dog Parade: Adorably themed and judged, this mini-parade showcases costumed pups and their owners. Categories include Best Duo and People’s Choice.

• Live Music: Four stages host performances both nights, with genres ranging from folk to rock to pop.

• Trivia & Car Night: Friday kicks off with a classic car showcase and a lively trivia competition hosted by The Rook Room.

Opus Taylor is performing live music! Prairie Moon Winery and Vineyards, northwest of Ames at 3801 W. 190th St., offers music on its lawn from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. almost every Sunday from June through September. Musicians perform from a corncrib stage, adding to the fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

Prairie Moon’s brick-oven pizza is available for purchase, and the winery has a large selection of wine, beer, and soft drinks.

Admission is $5 per person for adults 21 and over. Customers 20 and younger are admitted for free.
